Music for Kids aims to bring kids and young adults from across Brighton and Hove together to develop greater personal and group skills and confidence through the language of music. We use music as a vehicle to share cultural and social understanding and help each participant build healthy relationships and achieve their personal goals.

We believe this leads to greater community cohesion across the city, respect for each other and respect for the environment. Our activities include classes in instrument playing, group/band involvement, study of the issues raised by the material eg environmental/social issues, performances at community events festivals and at schools.

We pursue kid’s choices and interests giving them both a focus and way to use energy and relax. We provide a safe place to discuss concerns, a community less frequently found these days, and an example of the benefits of working together and of a sustained piece of work.
