Brighton Peace Choir in action!
Welcome to the home of Music for Kid’s. We are a Brighton and Hove based incorporated voluntary organisation of active musicians (players and teachers) committed to sharing music and the fun and challenges of music making with kids of all ages and abilities.
Our music comes from many cultures, traditions and genres and our steering committee is of a very mixed age group.
We do individual classes in classical and contemporary piano/keyboards, bass, drums, guitar, saxophone and singing. We do group workshops and mentor bands in working as a group, composition and songwriting. We have a choir too, aged 4-16yrs, see Brighton Peace Choir for details of this. We do lots of performing at gigs, community events, concerts and festivals and train young adults in stage rigging and sound engineering.
Kids have a big say in what we do and teachers are chosen for their experience to fit the interests and skills of each individual student.
The organisation is overseen by Mrs Jackie Chase, ABRSM Honorary Local Representative, classical piano teacher for many years, music workshop leader and founder of Under The Bridge Studios. With so much experience Jackie inspires dedicated practice, performance and understanding in a way that has proven success. Mr Andy Aruldoss is our musical director and classical and contemporary guitar and bass tutor. Experienced in many aspects of live performance and band leading Andy also teaches guitar/bass privately at Under The Bridge Studios and for the West Sussex Music Service as well as offering recording skills to the organisation. Jackie and Andy are backed up by a group of teachers and experienced youth workers all trained and CRB checked.
We are based at Under the Bridge Studios 7 Trafalgar Arches Brighton (just a minute away from Brighton mainline station) which has 3 fully equipped rehearsal rooms, a brand new recording suite and a dedicated music room for teaching and music for kids activities. There is parking and special access.
